Atlantic Construction provides heavy construction and industrial equipment in the United States. It rents, sells, and provides parts and service support for four categories of specialized equipment, including hi-lift or aerial platform equipment; cranes; earthmoving equipment; and industrial lift trucks. The company also sells new and used equipment and parts, as well as provides maintenance and repair services for the customers' owned equipment. In addition, Atlantic Construction provides ancillary equipment support activities, including transportation, hauling, parts shipping, and loss damage waivers. Its customers include industrial and commercial companies, construction contractors, manufacturers, public utilities, municipalities, maintenance contractors, and other industrial accounts.
Atlantic Construction also engages in the procurement and servicing of mining equipment for the extraction of coal, and other minerals and ores. The mining division operates in two segments, Underground Mining Machinery and Surface Mining Equipment. The Underground Mining Machinery segment procures underground mining equipment for the extraction of coal and other bedded minerals, as well as operates service locations near mining regions. Its product line includes continuous miners; longwall shearers; powered roof supports; armored face conveyors; shuttle cars; flexible conveyor trains; complete longwall mining systems, consisting of powered roof supports, an armored face conveyor, and a longwall shearer; feeder breakers; continuous haulage systems; battery haulers; and roof bolters. The Surface Mining Equipment segment procureselectric mining shovels, rotary blasthole drills, and walking draglines for open-pit mining operations. These products are used in mining copper, coal, iron ore, oil sands, silver, gold, diamonds, phosphate, and other minerals and ores. This segment also provides a range of parts and services to mines; offers electric motor rebuilds, and other products and services to the non mining industrial segment; and sells used electric mining shovels in other markets.
Atlantic Construction various products and services are also used in the energy industry for the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas properties worldwide. The energy services division also operates in two segments, Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation. The Completion and Production segment provides production enhancement services, completion tools and services, and cementing services. Its production enhancement services include stimulation services, pipeline process services, sand control services, and well intervention services; completion tools and services consist of subsurface safety valves and flow control equipment, surface safety systems, packers and specialty completion equipment, intelligent completion systems, expandable liner hanger systems, sand control systems, well servicing tools, and reservoir performance services; and cementing services comprise bonding the well and well casing, while isolating fluid zones and maximizing wellbore stability. The Drilling and Evaluation segment provides field and reservoir modeling, drilling, evaluation, and well-bore placement solutions that enable customers to model, measure, and optimize their well construction activities. Its offerings include baroid fluid services, sperry drilling services, security DBS drill bits, wireline and perforating services, and project management, as well as integrated exploration, drilling, and production software information systems. The company serves national and independent oil and gas companies.
