The modern CNC machine have
Ethernet LAN port. But there are
earlier CNC machines with RS-232
port for part program transfer.

Digitech offer a product, to
convert RS-232 port of CNC in
Ethernet LAN port. This product
is to be installed near serial port
of a CNC machine. The Ethernet
LAN will be ready.

CAT5 or CAT6 cable can be used
for interfacing this LAN port to
CNC machine. The product comes
with DNC Software. Even though
it is a LAN communication, the
data goes to CNC by RS-232.
Hence the data speed is decided
by the baud rate set on RS-232
port of a CNC.

This works well for drip feed
mode. The die & mould programs
are too long to fit in CNC
memory. Under this situation it is
useful.
